 Powerbond Race Performance Balancer The POWERBOND Race Series brings the advantages of bonded balancers to high revving race and street/race applications where an SFI approved balancer is required. Every Race Series POWERBOND balancer features a precision CNC machined AUSI 1045 forged steel hub bonded to an equally strong steel inertia ring. The steel inertia ring of the Race Series models is positively protected against forward and backward movement and has the assurance of bonded rubber to eliminate spinning. Every model has easy to read computer etched timing marks. JLR (Jaguar Land Rover): 1,000 new jobs at Halewood
Tue, 13 Mar 2012Jaguar Land Rover recruiting 1,000 at Halewood Jaguar Land Rover are creating 1,000 new jobs at their Halewood plant to keep up with orders for the Range Rover Evoque and Freelander 2. We’ve reported umpteen times on Land Rover’s order book for the Range Rover Evoque, and how the stylish new entry-level Range Rover has scored a direct hit with buyers, And that’s now translating in to even more jobs at Land Rover, just nine months after Evoque production started. JLR has announced the creation of 1,000 extra jobs at their Halewood plant on Merseyside to try and keep pace with the burgeoning order book not just for the Range Rover Evoque, but also for the Freelander 2 which is also being created as CKDs for shipping to India.

Sun, 05 May 2013There was talk that VW needed at least three of its brands to take the BlueSport project in to production, and there was talk not just of a VW Bluesport but also a SEAT BlueSport, one from Skoda, another from Audi and even a Porsche BlueSport. But in the end, not a single part of VW’s vast group seemed enamoured enough with the BlueSport to take the project forward. But it now looks as though the idea of the BlueSport is far from dead, with VW’s design boss, Walter de Silva, declaring that he’s a big fan of the BlueSport project, and he’s far from the only one in the VW Group who feels the same.

(We're still banking on Ford's re-introduction of the Crown Victoria for a shot-for-shot remake of Beastie Boys' "Sabotage.") Matt Farah of the Smoking Tire did for its review of the Cadillac CTS V-Sport, which took four days to shoot and six to edit, and probably three more to steal the dolly cam from Scorsese's basement. -- You might not remember the Saturn Pioneer, but back in 1979, "the new marque Saturn was developed to play on the increased attention to astronomy NASA's deep space probes were generating," writes automotive historian/inveterate liar Jason Torchinsky. One of GM's many H-Body cars, the Pioneer -- named after the probe, not the Probe -- carried an innovative version of GM's venerable "Iron Duke": it had both a carburetor and throttle-body fuel injection, which undoubtedly added needless complexity that could have better served the real Rocket Division, Oldsmobile.
